Following his appointment as Technical Director for WOC2022, Graham Gristwood has stepped down as Performance Director on the SOA Board. In light of his decision, the Board of Directors co-opted Claire Ward as our new Performance Director at the Board meeting on Saturday 19th January. She will fulfil full Performance Director duties with immediate effect and will stand for the position come the AGM in June this year.

The Scottish Orienteering 6-Day Event Co Ltd is seeking a Coordinator for Lochaber 2021.  The Coordinator (not necessarily from the same club as the Central Organising Team) will play a key role in the successful delivery of the event, through the coordination of a team of volunteers and paid-for services as appropriate.

The Simplyhealth XCountry moved from Holyrood in Edinburgh to a new location at Stirling Golf Club.  Orienteers (running under their Athletic clubs) had some outstanding runs including Megan Keith (INVOC) and Pippa Carcas (INT) taking Silver and Bronze respectively in the U17 Girls Inter District.

2019 has got off to a positive start as we have welcomed Fran Britain to our SOA staff team as Administrative Assistant. Fran will work from our office at Glenmore Lodge on a 2 day a week basis and will be the contact point for membership enquiries from clubs moving forward.
