The INVOC Eagle weekend soars

Inverness Orienteering Club (INVOC) in conjunction with Masterplan Orienteering put on the Inverness Eagle Weekend which combined a Scottish Orienteering Urban League (SOUL) event, a World Ranking Middle distance event and a Scottish Orienteering League (SOL) into one weekend of glorious orienteering with a ceilidh as the cherry on top!

Candidate for SOA Director – Neil Polwart – FVO

The 2026 AGM sees Tim O’Donoghue standing down as Safety Director having served as Director for 6 years. Neil Polwart of Forth Valley Orienteers (FVO) has indicated that he would be willing to stand for the position of Director on the SOA Board and as such a vote will be held as part of the AGM. The Proxy Vote form for the AGM has been updated to reflect this (2026 AGM Proxy Form) and the AGM Booklet updated as at today’s date (10th September 2026) with Neil Polwart’s support information detailed below.

East Area Training

Last weekend East Area training took place at Riccarton, Edinburgh. Planned by Lorna Eades (INT) and Ian Maxwell (RR), it was the first urban focused East Area session. Over 40 people attended with training groups from TD1-5 including juniors and adults groups.

ScotJOS Squad Manager sought

We are looking to recruit a Squad Manager for the Scottish Junior Orienteering Squad (ScotJOS). The person will work alongside Roger Goddard, and will replace Judy Bell, who has been a stalwart of the ScotJOS coaching team for many years. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Judy for all her hard work and acknowledge the enormous contribution she has made to ScotJOS and the development of our Scottish Juniors.
