Jamie Stevenson Trophy 2025

The Jamie Stevenson Trophy is an annual inter-club competition for junior orienteers in Scotland. This year the competition will take place at The Hill of Alyth, on Sunday 15th June. This is a great event for juniors of all abilities to meet, socialise and compete against each other. There will be a parade, warm-up and challenges for all to enjoy as well as the orienteering. In 2024 approximately 110 juniors from 12 clubs took part.

The competition is open to juniors (M/W18 and under) and courses offered include Yellow, Orange, Light Green and Green. Information about the eligibility of juniors for each course and the scoring system can be found on the SOA website.

This event is a fundraising event for the Scottish Junior Orienteering Squad with all profits going to support the Squad. Entries are made via clubs and club entries should be submitted using the attached entry form. Entries on the same course from the same club will be at least 4 minutes apart. You can add a start time preference for each competitor (Early/Middle/Late) but if you wish competitors from your club to run in a particular order, please can you make that clear on the Entry Form, and list them on the entry form in the preferred order (earliest first on the form and latest last). The event is likely to start with a parade at 10.45 am and start times will range from 11.15 am onwards. The final closing date for entries will be Sunday 8th June 2025.

Please can you e-mail the completed form to Judy Bell at the address below, and arrange payment of entry fees by bank transfer to ScotJOS – payment details are on the Entry Form. The Entry Fee is £9, only 50p increase since 2019. Pairs pay per map. In addition to the medals awarded for each course, we would like to have ‘spot’ prizes so that everyone feels included; if Clubs are able to donate something suitable it would be greatly appreciated; please bring it along on the day, and hand to any of the Organisers. Accompanying adults will be able to run once juniors have finished. Adults entries will be handled by TAY orienteers as part of their local event which is being held in conjunction with the Jamie Stevenson. Entry details will appear on the TAY website soon.
