Volunteer Week – Day 7

On our final post of Volunteer Week 2025, it would not be right to finish without saying a huge thank you to those who give up their time to act as Directors of the Scottish Orienteering Association and the Scottish 6 Days. Without their efforts we simply would not be able to function the way we do!

As ever we could name them all but we wanted to highlight the efforts of Dave Kershaw (Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club) and Kevin Reynard (Grampian Orienteering Club) have sat on the Scottish 6 Days Board for probably more years than they wish to count as Chair and Finance Director respectively.

And as we were looking to Deeside 2025 we wanted to take the time to say a huge thank you to everyone who is giving their time to make the event happen but with a special mention to Michael Atkinson (East Lothian Orienteers) who behind the scenes manages the Scottish 6 Days website and managed the WOC 2024 website and David Nicol (Forth Valley Orienteers) who has for the last three Scottish 6 Days managed the entries and start times.

We all know that there are many dedicated orienteers that make our sport happen and we can not mention everyone. So to everyone that gives up their time to ensure our sport can happen – THANK you!
