Volunteer week – day 3

Tara Black

The INVOC President’s Quaich for services to the club was awarded to Tara Black at the last AGM. Since 2017, Tara has collated and distributed the weekly newsletter which is always a mine of information, beautifully organised and promptly distributed. Tara also updates the INVOC facebook page as part of her publicity role. She is a long serving member of the committee and regularly helps at events. Her forte is cake stall organising, and she excelled herself at the Scottish Championships last year.

Those regular newsletters are so important for keeping folk up to date particularly if there hasn’t been an event for a bit. During Tara’s time in post the INVOC newsletter has grown to include comprehensive details of fixtures past and future with results and photos; SOA news including courses and notification of junior and national events; congratulations, thanks and celebration of club achievements and those all important club kit orders.

Publicity is one of those often unsung roles that makes a huge contribution to the smooth running of a club so we’d like to take this opportunity to give a big shout out to all those in clubs who work hard to ensure that everyone else is kept well informed.
