Upcoming Event Officials courses
Events can’t run without volunteers and some of those volunteering roles require a degree of expertise. Come along to one of our courses, learn new skills and help your club and the sport to put on those events that we all enjoy. Courses coming up in 2025 include:
Level D/local events organiser workshops
What: 2 x 1.25 hour online workshops with simple club based tasks in between.

Young Organiser Workshops
What: 2 x 1.25 hour online workshops tailored for juniors ( 16 + ) who wish to get involved in organising. There will be club based, mentored practical tasks to be completed between the workshops.

Young Planner Workshop series
What: This series of online workshops is for juniors who have no planning experience or have just started planning and want to know more.

27th January – Optional TD3/4 workshop

Event Safety and Welfare workshops
The Event Safety and Welfare (ESW) workshop is aimed at all who orienteer – whether you are a coach, a competitor, an event official (planner or organiser) or helper. It is a suitable refresher for those who have attended the course before – there are some new materials!
The next online workshop will run on 3rd March 2025 with a Junior ESW on 24th February for junior organisers & planners. Although juniors are, of course, welcome at any ESW. Registration closes a week before the workshop.
Controller Courses
Grade C controller courses are run twice a year – one more northerly (autumn) and one in the central belt (spring) with the precise venue dictated by learner location. Grade B controller courses are run on an as required basis. If you are interested in either of these please get in touch with Suzanne and register your interest as this helps with our planning. Once dates and venues are decided, these will be promulgated along with registration forms.
