Tinto Twin provides finale for 2025 Inter Club Champs
The Scottish Inter Club Championships which is held over twelve geographically distributed events over the course of the year allows clubs to compete against each other to see who can gain the most points from their club members performances at events. The Scottish Inter Club Championship consists of two sections, large and small clubs, based on the number of members a club has and these are then split into Senior and Junior sections so there are four awards at the end of the year with two Trophies on offer for the Senior sections and a variety of sweeter prizes for the Junior sections.
In 2025 there were events ranging from the Edinburgh University Orienteering Club (EUOC) Big Weekend in January through to the last event in November in Glasgow, The Tinto Twin Day Race hosted by St Andrew’s (Glasgow) Orienteering Club (STAG). After the Tinto Twin Day race the, FVO had confirmed their dominance again this year in both the Large Club Senior and Large Club Junior sections. STAG claimed the Small Club Senior section and Tayside Orienteering Club claimed the Small Club Junior section.
Large Club Senior Section
In the Large Club Senior Sections it was a close run thing between FVO and Interlopers Orienteering Club (Interlopers) all year but FVO managed to score more points per run overall and claim the title. Edinburgh Southern Orienteering Club (ESOC) were a well placed third with Moravian Orienteering Club (MOR) and Inverness Orienteering Club (INVOC) in a everchanging tustle through the year to see who would claim fourth position with MOR coming out on top in 2025.
Large Club Junior Section
In the Large Club Junior Section again it was a close race with FVO retaining the title again for 2025 but INVOC and MOR offered a strong challenge but INVOC managed to overhaul MOR in the junior section to take second place. Interlopers claimed fourth position.
Small Club Senior Section
In the Small Club Senior Section, STAG and EUOC as was fitting for the clubs who hosted the first and last event of the 2025 Scottish Inter Club Championship vied to raise the trophy. In again a close run competition STAG took advantage of hosting the last event of the year to consolidate the lead they had taken into the last event. With TAY finishing in third place just ahead of Roxburgh Reivers (RR) in fourth position.
Small Club Junior Section
In the Small Club Junior Section, the competition over the year had been between TAY, Grampian Orienteering Club (GRAMP) , Loch Eck Orienteering Club (ECKO) and Ayrshire Orienteering Club (AYROC). TAY claimed the title in the end with GRAMP in second, ECKO in third and AYROC lying in fourth.
