Sign up for the next Community Conversation: Marketing and Outreach to New Audiences, 21st April

Growing participation in orienteering depends on how effectively we reach and engage new people. The April online Community Conversation (April Club Conversations sign up) will focus on practical ways through which clubs and SOA can improve marketing and outreach.

Come along on 21 April, 7.30-8.30pm, and hear about some of the practical work that SOA has underway to support clubs in raising wider awareness of orienteering. We’ll be exploring:

  • Using social media effectively to attract wider interest and developing a more strategic communications framework
  • Planning event publicity to reach potential new participants
  • The new SOA ‘What is Orienteering’ leaflet for newcomers, with an opportunity to contribute your feedback and ideas around how it can support promotion.

Katherine Ivory, SOA Marketing & Comms Director, will give an overview to set the scene before we move into open discussion. Please do bring along to share things which you’ve found work well for publicising local events and encouraging newcomers to try orienteering. Whether you’re already involved in promoting events or just interested in helping your club grow, your ideas and experiences are all very
valuable.
