SEDS – Scottish Elite and Development Squad
The Scottish Elite and Development Squad (SEDS) helps Scottish-based orienteering athletes to reach their potential and promotes top quality training which is open to all athletes currently at TD5. It also offers an opportunity for ScotJOS leavers and orienteers aged between 18 – 39 to stay in the sport and develop their skills with a programme of coaching and social trips. The training programme is currently organised by SOA’s performance manager Graham Gristwood – grahamgristwood@scottish-orienteering.org.

Some members of SEDS go on to represent Team GB at international competitions, some just want to continue to improve their skills to be competitive in domestic competitions and some simply enjoy getting out to do some orienteering whilst socialising with friends.
The hope for the future is to gain funding that allows us to provide TD3/4 coaching at training sessions to open SEDS up to those looking to improve. If you are interested in helping out or doing some coaching, then get in touch with Graham.
