Scottish Student Championships 2024

This year Stirling University were the hosts of the 2024 Scottish Student Championships with the support of Forth Valley Orienteers. The championships consist of an individual event followed by a relay. The individual took place on Saturday at Kippendavie alongside the FVO club championships, meanwhile the relays took place at the Falkirk Wheel. Seven higher education institutions were represented across the weekend.

After the individuals Edinburgh led the way. However Stirling University was not too far behind. Well done also to the athletes from Glasgow, Heriot Watt and Napier University in attendance. And a special mention goes to Anwen who made the trip solo to represent Dundee Uni! Great enthusiasm across the board from all our students.

Day 2 meant it was time for the relays. With Stirling not too far behind on the leaderboard it was all to play for. At the Scottish Student Championships the relay is made up of 3 legs; a light green, orange and green. There is a mass start for competitors on the light green leg.

After the relay it was time for the prize giving. Edinburgh took home the overall trophy having achieved a clean sweep over the weekend. Stirling took home silver and Glasgow bronze. Edinburgh managed to keep the Scottish Student Champs trophy for another year. It was great to see so many universities and students taking part across the weekend.
