Scottish Championships sees movement in the Inter Club Championships tables

The Scottish Championship saw the handing over of the trophies and essential chocolate prizes for the 2024 Scottish Inter Club Championships. As previously indicated Forth Valley Orienteers (FVO) claimed both the Senior and Junior Large Clubs Inter Club titles last year with STAG (St Andrews Orienteering Club, Glasgow) claiming the Senior Small Club Iner Club title and Tayside Orienteers (TAY) claiming the Junior Small Club Inter Club title. Well done again to all involved.

The last couple of years have seen a consistent presence of Forth Valley Orienteers at the top of both the Senior and Junior Large Club trophies but the Scottish Championship weekend saw pressure mounting on the FVO dominance! Both Interlopers (INT) in the Senior Large Club Section and Inverness Orienteering Club (INVOC) in the Junior Large Club section accrued a large number of points which could cause a challenge. We can only wait and see how things evolve.

In the Small Clubs Senior section STAG currently hold the lead but Edinburgh University Orienteering Club (EUOC) and TAY are both accruing more points per run allowing them to gain ground on STAG. Whilst in the Small Clubs Junior section TAY retain the lead but again Loch Eck Orienteers (ECKO) and Grampian Orienteers (GRAMP) are again accruing more points per run and as such gaining ground on TAY.
