Free lunch, home made cake and a chance to talk about orienteering. Interested?

Got experiences you think are worth sharing, want to meet members from other clubs or find out what others think about the hot topics in a format where chat is not restricted by start times, download queues or volunteering requirements. With a free lunch on offer and a guarantee of home made cake the Club Networking days really are a chance for our members to come have lunch and chat about all things orienteering.

Don’t be put off by the name – Club Networking day – perhaps we have not been very good at explaining the purpose or perhaps should have given them a different name this year? These days are very much for everyone (not just committee members) – if you’re interested in the sport, it’s future, coaching, creating opportunities for new technology or how we make it better then please do come along.

This year we will be running two in-person Club Networking days this year, to widen opportunities for club members across Scotland to participate.

  • Saturday 12th September – Dunblane (Braeport Centre)
  • Saturday 19th September – Boat of Garten (Community Hall)

Anyone is very welcome to attend either one (or both!)

The day will be divided into various sessions allowing discussions on topics from mapping, communication with communities, Livelox, Scottish Relay format, funding opportunities as well as lots of opportunities to get to know everyone attending, swap practical tips/ thoughts and even some orienteering activities. This is not a definitive list however and what gets discussed is determined by what you want to talk about with opportunities for smaller group discussions depending on the topic.

With SOA staff and Directors in attendance it also provides the opportunity to discuss particular topics you might want to raise.
