Coaching Courses update
Our great sport always needs people to help introduce others to a fantastic new activity or support those already participating to be the best they can. These people are our coaches and we have a variety of courses to train you to join their ranks – it’s easier than you think.

The first step on the ladder is Coaching Foundation (CF) or Young Coach Assistant (YCA) for juniors. These fun, unassessed courses combine practical coaching backed up by basic theory in an interactive course. CF is run over 3 online sessions with an in-club practical so no need to travel. YCA is a fun packed, in person day doing practical exercises and relating those to learners’ own experiences.

The first licenced qualification, replacing the old Level 1, is Club Coach, the focus of which is running single sessions. This is also delivered mainly online with one day in person which includes the practical assessment.
For those who wish to take their coaching further and learn the skills to supervise other coaches and oversee a whole club or squad training plan there is the Lead Coach course which supersedes the old Level 2.

Details of all these courses with their registration forms can be found on the SOA Training Calendar and the dates are also on the Events Calendar. If you don’t see a course with dates to suit, you need advice or have some feedback for us, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Suzanne
