British Orienteering seek juniors to bring the youth voice to help shape their thinking

British Orienteering have established a youth voice programme and are seeking juniors from a variety of backgrounds and experience of orienteering to share their views and help improve orienteering. It would be great to see voices representing the Scottish experience. More information can be found here on British Orienteering Youth Voices Programme.

Scottish Orienteering consider the youth voice to be really important in ensuring our sport is a thriving sport for all generations in terms of the SOA Strategy. The SOA engages with our juniors through conversations held with the juniors at the Inter Area weekend held every autumn, ScotJOS weekends and at the socials we organise at Scottish Championships as well as the newly launched SOA Junior Newsletters.

We know how passionate juniors are about the sport and recognise how important they are in ensuring we are a thriving sport. Anything we can do to make sure that the Scottish junior perspective is heard at British Orienteering level would be a good thing. As such we want to encourage any Scottish junior interested to apply via the British Orienteering Youth Panel Application Form – Fill in form and if we can help support engagement with this in any way please get in touch with Nikki Howard nikki@scottish-orienteering.org or via info@scottish-orienteering.org
