STAG celebrate their 1000th event/activity

Last weekend saw St Andrews Orienteering Club of Glasgow (STAG) hold their 1000th event in Tollcross Park, Glasgow in their over 40 year history.

The event was a 2 person relay event – the Du”O” – which sees two people between them run 4 courses of 2km on a rotational basis. The courses were gaffled – the individual routes are planned so as to vary slightly and to make following difficult.

With participants travelling from as far afield as Pendle Forest Orienteers, Jedburgh and West Cumbria, the event as usual was a huge success. Well done to STAG and their volunteers for all their efforts both at the weekend and over the years. It seems appropriate that it was the Honorary President and stalwart of the club, Terry O’Brien BEM, who planned the event – thank you Terry.
