Scottish Night-O Season 2025-26
As clubs across Scotland wrap up their Night-O leagues, it’s been fantastic to see so many Night- O events over the last few months.
Northern Night Cup 2025-26
The final event of the Northern Night Cup 25-26 was held in Nethy Bridge last Wednesday evening. The event was hosted by BASOC, who not only planned and organised two great courses, but arranged for the presentations to be held in the comfort of the Nethy Bridge cafe. Refreshments and cakes were enjoyed by all – thanks to Rob & Anne Parkinson and Finlay McLuckie. A total of 87 runners participated in the six events of the series, organised by MOR, INVOC and BASOC. Deeside Night Cup
The Deeside series also concluded last Wednesday with dinner and prizegiving at the Scolty Café in Banchory.

Elsewhere in Scotland
While some series have finished, the action continues elsewhere:
- Central Scotland: FVO’s Night Series has seen its usual high attendance. The final event is at Lochan Spling at the start of March
- Glasgow: STAG’s Dark Park series has successfully delivered eight events so far in parks in and around Glasgow
- Edinburgh: EUOC’s Fight With The Night (FWTN) continues its fortnightly urban and forest mix. The season concludes at Craigmillar at the end of March.
- The South West: Solway Orienteers have also been busy with regular Night-O in the South West.
Looking Ahead
It is finally time to put the head torches away as the evenings get longer. Thankyou to all the organisers, planners and runners who braved the dark, cold Scottish Nights. We look forward to the Night-O 2026/27 season!
