Sport is exempt from 6 people guidelines.

Following the First Minister’s announcement last Thursday we felt it was important to clarify that ‘organised sport’ is exempt from the new 6 people from 2 households guidelines which came into effect on Monday 14th September. Therefore we have been given approval from sportscotland to continue with our SOA Guidelines published on 26th August which permit local and regional events as well as club activities.

While social gatherings have new restrictions in place that limit 6 people from up to 2 households meeting in both indoor and outdoor settings (under 12s from the 2 households are not counted within this limit). This restriction does not apply to organised sport which is exempt due to the additional measures we have put in place within the SGB guidelines including safety measures, additional risk assessment procedures and the role of the Covid Officer for club activity and events.

Recent figures serve as a timely reminder that the virus has not gone away and we all have a responsibility to do what we can to help suppress the spread of the virus at this time.
