Good Practice Guide to Orienteering and the Environment

The SOA has produced a Good Practice Guide to Orienteering and the Environment in Scotland. The document is written for orienteers, and is intended to assist in securing access to land for events, particularly where there are concerns about nature conservation.

Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) and Forestry Commission Scotland reviewed the document and their input is valued. The document can be sent to landowners, local conservation groups, land owning bodies etc. if required, though it is best if the document is used to extend rather than open dialogue and discussions.

Landowners and land managers are generally helpful, co-operative and supportive towards orienteering events. Queries can be directed to the SOA Events Manager who can provide further advice and assistance.
