SUMMARY:Coaching Foundation (CF/24_1) – Blended learning
DESCRIPTION:An initial\, unassessed course for orienteers who are interested in coaching.  This course will give you the basics and get you on the pathway to becoming a coach. Also useful for qualified coaches in need of a refresher. \nRun mostly online\, with a practical club supported element\, this course will be held over 4 sessions. Sessions 1\, 2 & 4 – 1.5 hrs online weekday evenings\, session 3 – club based\, self-evaluated practical session. Dates for the 3 online sessions are  w/b  8th\, 15th & 29th Jan 2024. Practical session by negotiation with club mentor. \nCost: \n£50 per person (non-members £75) \nMin/Max. \n4/8 \nCourse Content: \nDiscussion around what to coach and how to coach orienteering; practical self and peer evaluated exercises. \nPRE-REQUISITES: \n\nCompetent orienteers at least at TD3\nAge 16+ (open to negotiation for exceptional candidates)\nYou must be able to arrange a practical exercise with a club coach within the time frame of the course\, ideally between online sessions 2 & 3.\n\nOTHER NOTES: \nThis course is a pre-requisite for the Club Coach Level 5  course. \nMORE DETAIL: \nBook online through the Google form link below or contact Suzanne Robins-Bird with any questions

SUMMARY:Young Coach Assistant YCA/24_1 3rd Feb 2024
DESCRIPTION:A course combining theory and practical for juniors with some knowledge of orienteering (TD3 standard )\, who are interested in helping with coaching in a club\, squad\, camp or school setting.  This course is an introduction to aspects of coaching and is in 2 parts: \n\n\n 1.5 hours online (one evening during the week before the practical day)\nA full practical day (10am – 4pm) on Saturday 3rd February.\nYou are required to attend both parts to complete the course.\n\nCost:\nThe training is provided free of charge but you will be required to commit to a period of volunteering.\n\nCourse Content: \nDiscussion around what to coach and how to coach orienteering; practical self and peer evaluated exercises. \nPRE-REQUISITES: \nCompetent orienteers at least at TD3; age 14+ \nOTHER NOTES: \nThis course counts as a pre-requisite for the SCCO Level 5 club Coach course. \nMORE DETAIL: \nBook online through the Google form or contact Suzanne Robins-Bird with any questions

SUMMARY:Planning Workshops Winter Series 2024
DESCRIPTION:A series of workshops for those who have no planning experience or have just started to to plan and want to know more.  These workshops will run across the following dates:\n\n\nMonday 5th February 2024\nMonday 12th February 2024\nMonday 19th February 2024\nMonday 26th February 2024\n\nThe workshops will be held online from 7:30pm to 9pm; it is expected that delegates will attend all the workshops.  There will be a planning exercise to do between each workshop date. \n\n\nDelegates will require access to either Condes or Purple Pen on their computer (tablets / phones are not suitable for this).\n\nThere is no PP/Condes workshop specifically for this series.  A workshop is being held on Friday 12th for the junior planning series which may have space for some seniors if required.  Please indicate on the form if you would be interested in this.\n\nBook online through the Google form by Monday 22nd Jan 24 or contact Suzanne Robins-Bird\, Coaching and Volunteer Officer with any questions.
