SUMMARY:Junior Planning workshops 2024
DESCRIPTION:This series of workshops is for juniors who have no planning experience or have just started to do some planning and want to know more.  It will run across the following dates:\n\n\n\nFriday 12th January – Optional Condes/Purple Pen workshop\nMonday 15th January – Workshop 1\nMonday 22nd January – Workshop 2\nMonday 29th January – Optional TD3/4 workshop\n\nThe workshops will be held on Zoom and run from 7:30pm to 9pm; it is expected that delegates will attend both the workshops and that they will have access to either Condes or Purple Pen on their computer.  Tablets / phones are not suitable for this and you will need to have uploaded and tried out your course planning software before the first workshop. There will be a planning exercise to do between each workshop date. \n\n\nAn optional workshop on Friday 12th January is to ensure that learners are familiar with the basics of using either Condes or Purple Pen. It is strongly suggested that you attend this unless you are confident using course planning software. \nThe trainers will decide in conjunction with the learners whether to run the optional TD3/4 workshop and the date will be negotiable.\n\nPlease submit the Google registration form by Tuesday 2nd January 2024 (deadline extended) or direct any queries to suzanne@scottish-orienteering.org

SUMMARY:Junior Coaching Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Join a Junior Open Coaching Weekend on 17-18th March 2018 at Templars Park Campsite in Maryculter\, Deeside. The weekend will combine high-quality coaching with the chance for juniors to socialise with others of a similar standard from other clubs. Places are available for 24 M/W 14s and M/W16s (age class at time of booking) who are not currently in ScotJOS. Young athletes should be currently running at TD4 or 5 (Light Green courses and higher) and should be confident about running a TD4 course on their own. Evidence of competence at this level will need to be demonstrated. \nThe rough outline for the weekend will be: \n\nGather at Templar’s Park on Friday evening (a team planning activity will be ongoing as folk arrive). Supper and a briefing for the weekend.\nSaturday: morning and afternoon training in Glen Dye with evening activities at Templar’s Park.\nSunday: morning training at Glen Dye with final activity after lunch – pick up at 3pm from Templar’s Park.\n\nThe cost for the weekend will be £85 which will include all meals\, maps\, transport from Maryculter to training areas\, and coaches expenses. I have tried to be as accurate as possible but it may well be that we need to charge a little extra or you might get a small refund. \nThere may be limited accommodation for parents/carers bringing young athletes to Maryculter depending on the balance of boys/girls applying. This can be discussed once we have finalised the athlete list. \nPlaces will be allocated on a first come\, first served basis with a weighting depending on the size of the club\, so that we get an fair spread across clubs. Book online here before 5pm on Friday 24th November.
