SUMMARY:Coaching Foundation - 26 Oct 2021
DESCRIPTION:A practical course for orienteers who are interested in coaching.  This online course will give you the foundations to coaching and start your pathway to becoming a coach. \nRun mostly online\, with a practical club supported element\, this course will be held over 4 sessions. Sessions 1 & 4 online 1.5 hrs\,  session 2 part online/part homework\, session 3  club based practical session. Dates for the 4 sessions are – 26 Oct online 1.5 hrs\, 2 Nov (part on line)\, 16 Nov online 1.5 hrs \,with a home learning session between 2-16 Nov. \nThis is a prerequisite for the Level 1 coaching course. \nINTENDED FOR:\nPeople with some knowledge of orienteering\, who are interested in trying their hand at coaching; also useful for qualified coaches in need of a refresher. \nUSUAL DURATION:\nAs described above – Over one month period for a series of online sessions plus practical participant lead home learning \nASSESSMENT:\nNot assessed \nCOST:\n£50 per person (non-members £75) \nMIN/MAX.\n4/6 \nMAIN TOPICS:\nDiscussion around how to teach/coach orienteering\, practical exercises. \nPRE-REQUISITES:\nCompetent orienteers at least at TD3; age 16+ \nOTHER NOTES:\nThis course is a pre-requisite for the Level 1 Coach course; you might apply to go straight to Level 2 after this course. \nMORE DETAIL:\nBook on line through the URL link provided or contact Denise Martin with any questions \nEmail denise@scottish-orienteering.org
