SUMMARY:Coaching Foundation - 26 Oct 2021
DESCRIPTION:A practical course for orienteers who are interested in coaching.  This online course will give you the foundations to coaching and start your pathway to becoming a coach. \nRun mostly online\, with a practical club supported element\, this course will be held over 4 sessions. Sessions 1 & 4 online 1.5 hrs\,  session 2 part online/part homework\, session 3  club based practical session. Dates for the 4 sessions are – 26 Oct online 1.5 hrs\, 2 Nov (part on line)\, 16 Nov online 1.5 hrs \,with a home learning session between 2-16 Nov. \nThis is a prerequisite for the Level 1 coaching course. \nINTENDED FOR:\nPeople with some knowledge of orienteering\, who are interested in trying their hand at coaching; also useful for qualified coaches in need of a refresher. \nUSUAL DURATION:\nAs described above – Over one month period for a series of online sessions plus practical participant lead home learning \nASSESSMENT:\nNot assessed \nCOST:\n£50 per person (non-members £75) \nMIN/MAX.\n4/6 \nMAIN TOPICS:\nDiscussion around how to teach/coach orienteering\, practical exercises. \nPRE-REQUISITES:\nCompetent orienteers at least at TD3; age 16+ \nOTHER NOTES:\nThis course is a pre-requisite for the Level 1 Coach course; you might apply to go straight to Level 2 after this course. \nMORE DETAIL:\nBook on line through the URL link provided or contact Denise Martin with any questions \nEmail denise@scottish-orienteering.org

DESCRIPTION:Aimed at adults and designed for those who wish to develop orienteering skills to a level which will allow them to confidently participate in local club orienteering events. Run by a coach with the skills to address the needs of the individuals on the course\, this 2 day course \, offered over two separate weekends\, will help you on your way to add orienteering to a healthy\, active lifestyle. Your tutor will begin the course with a one hour \,online session to discuss the basics\, saving the technical and skills development for the face to face training progression over the two days. \nThis course is very much geared to the needs of those taking part.
