DESCRIPTION:A practical course for orienteers who are interested in coaching.  This online course will give you the foundations to coaching and start your pathway to becoming a coach. \nRun mostly online\, with a practical club supported element\, this course will be held over 4 sessions. Sessions 1 & 4 online 1.5 hrs\,  session 2 part online/part homework\, session 3  club based practical session. It provides skills to run single sessions. Subsidies are usually available from sportscotland. \nINTENDED FOR:\nActive orienteers interested in gaining their coaching qualification \nUSUAL DURATION:\nAs re-designed to be delivered partly online\, this course will extend through three sessions\,  2 x  1.5 hr online and 1 full day in person practical and tutor assessed. \nThe first online session will be 5 Oct. All pre-course work will need to be completed prior to this date. Following online session will be 19 Oct with the face to face assessment 30 Oct. DESCRIPTION:INTENDED FOR:\nAdults (anyone over 16) with some experience of orienteering \nUSUAL DURATION:\n1 or 2 days; you can book either day or join for the weekend. \nASSESSMENT:\nNone \nCOST:\n£35 per day\, less £10 for SOA members \nMIN/MAX.\n4/6 per coach \nMAIN TOPICS:\nAll basic skills and other more advanced techniques as required by participants \nPRE-REQUISITES:\nSome experience of orienteering; reasonable level of physical fitness \nOTHER NOTES:\nThese days/weekends are very much geared to the needs of those taking part. You will be asked beforehand what you particularly want to work on. Although we aim to help you improve significantly\, we also ensure that the whole experience is enjoyable.Come for one day or both;  usual fee £35 per person per day\, £10 discount for SOA members (all non-residential). We use top quality Speyside forests\, exquisite maps and the best local tea-rooms. The two-fold aim is simply to have fun while learning or improving your orienteering.
