SUMMARY:Level 1 Coaching Course L1 C  - (Partly Online)
DESCRIPTION:Previously known as UKCC coach qualifications\, we now have our own Scottish Coach Qualifications which are fully accredited by the SQA\, and are comprehensive and practical courses relevant for coaching in a Scottish context. \nThis is a high quality coaching qualification for orienteers who have attended the Coaching Foundation course. It provides skills to run single sessions. Subsidies are usually available from sportscotland. \nINTENDED FOR:\nActive orienteers interested in gaining their coaching qualification \nUSUAL DURATION:\nAs re-designed to be delivered partly online\, this course will extend through three sessions\,  2 x  1.5 hr online and 1 full day in person practical and tutor assessed. \nThe first online session will be 10 January. All pre-course work will need to be completed prior to this date.  \nThe pre-course work will be outlined in early December giving the learner a good amount of time to complete the work. \nASSESSMENT:\nBy qualified tutor. \nCOST:\n£150 per person\, £175 non-members.  Subsidy may be available from sportscotland; check your eligibility and apply via their website. \nMIN/MAX.:\n4/6\nMAIN TOPICS:\nLevel 1 is the “Assistant Coach”\, usually working with a more qualified coach though sometimes delivering a session alone after having received guidance from a more qualified coach. The focus of the Level 1 coach is the single session\, usually progressing a skill within the session. Any progression from one session to the next would be under the direct supervision of a more qualified coach. \nPRE-REQUISITES:\n\nAttendance at Coaching Foundation course\nParticipants must be aged 17 or over; evidence of competence at orienteering at TD4 or above\nCurrent member of British Orienteering\n\nOTHER NOTES:\nMORE DETAIL & BOOKING:\nQualification awarded by SQA. \nEmail denise@scottish-orienteering.org for further information or go directly to the URL link to register for the course.
