Strathearn 2019 - the countdown begins
Dates for the diary - the 22nd Scottish 6 Day Orienteering event runs from the 28 July-3 August 2019 in and around Strathearn on the Highland Boundary Fault. The programme of events is confirmed as Auchingarrich - Edinchip (new area) - Dundurn (new area) - Culteuchar & Dron - Craig a Barns - Grandtully along with a Sprint race in Crieff and proposed MTBO outside Perth. The application is in to stage two World Ranking Events (Dundurn - Middle; Craig a Barns - Long) as well as two UK Orienteering League days.
Follow this link for an excellent fly through of the St Fillans Golf Course, part of Day 3 (Dundurn) to get a feel for Strathearn.
The event centre will be Morrison's Academy in Crieff with Comrie Croft offering special campsite facilities (bookable through this link). Strathearn 2019 promises to be another great event - we will be staging two Middle Distance competitions (including the final day) and there are many different terrain types to enjoy from the oak woodlands of Loch Earn to the open hillsides at Culteuchar and of course the birthplace of Scottish Orienteering at Craig a Barns.
The Scottish 6 Days is a great event no matter what level of experience you have in orienteering. Competitors who come to one 6-Day event come back year after year to enjoy the competition, first-class organisation and the friendly festival atmosphere.
Entries will open at the start of December and further information is on the website http://www.scottish6days.com/2019
