Green Cake & Goodbyes
Today has been a reflectful day in the SOA office as staff gathered to discuss learning and also say farewell to two valued members of the team who are off to pastures and adventures new.
What our better way to wish our colleagues farewell than some home-baked 'green cake'? Despite initial reservations the staff team can confirm that pistachio and spinach is an excellent combination when topped with pine tree icing....recipe courtesy of Sarah Hobbs and who knows it may even feature in the next SCORE magazine!
However it is important that the cake does not ditract from the milestone of the day as Hilary Quick departs her role as Education Manager after being in the SOA for 15 years and Rona Lindsay has stepped away from her RDO Central/South role which she has held for the past two years. We are sad to see such experienced orienteers leave our team, but wish them both well on their next adventures. While both are leaving their professional roles, it is safe to say they will still be found as valued volunteers at their orienteering clubs of BASOC and ESOC respectively.
All the best to both Rona and Hilary (and Wiggy)!
