Jamie Stevenson Trophy 2016
All proceeds from the event go to support the Scottish Junior Squad and the teams for the UK Junior Inter-Regional Competition and the Junior Home International.
Courses offered include Yellow, Orange, Light Green and Green; there are restrictions on who can be competitive on the easier courses and a limit on the number of counters on each course/class for the team score.
Rules for the Jamie Stevenson Trophy.
Thanks to Tayside Orienteering Club, we have permission for Balkello (Forestry Commision) and surrounding hillside, near Dundee. This will be a great area for the competition with parking, club tents and finish all close together. The 10-15min walk up to the start ensures there is less climb on courses.
Please be aware this area is well-used by local families, dog-walkers and riders (of bikes and horses).
Facilities: portaloo toilets, ample space for club tents on flat grass and do-it-yourself BBQ area
All entries must come through a Scottish club by the closing date. Please complete the JST Entry Spreadsheet which has been sent to all club secretaries. Email the Organiser if you have not received it/do not know who has it for your club! Entries for adult helpers will be EOD (see ‘Helpers’ below).
Cost per entry: £8 per entry (pairs count as an entry) to include SI hire if required.
Closing date for entries: Monday 6th June 2016
No late entries or junior EOD will be accepted to ensure start times are allocated fairly between clubs.
There will be a short parade of all competing clubs at 11:00 with earliest start time 11:30
Prize-giving will take place as soon as possible after the counting finishers.
Due to the nature of the event (always central-ish Scotland etc) there is no organising club and it has not been possible to assemble a team of helpers from local clubs for the day, therefore the Organiser requests each competing club provides at least two helpers for a couple of hours on the day, to be deployed around the various jobs. There is space on the entry form for this information. Provided there are enough helpers, the courses will remain open for a short time to allow accompanying adults to run, subject to map availability.
Payment in full for all entries must be made by cheque payable to “Scottish Junior Orienteering Squad” or by bank transfer. Details have been sent to club secretaries by email. Any queries please contact ScotJOS Treasurer, Marjorie Mason firstname.lastname@example.org
