Young Leader’s training continues
Another group of Young Coach Assistants has just completed their training, this time at Glenmore Lodge. The weather, which had threatened to be absolutely foul, was kind to us and, although we started off indoors by mapping the bar area whilst the snow melted, we soon moved outside to deliver practical coaching exercises.
The day was rounded off with a ferociously competitive game of musical ‘O’ with Sophie Howard the final victor. The young people now move onto the final part of their training, delivering mentored sessions in their clubs, before being awarded their certificates and their Young Leaders buff.
The current series of Young Planner workshops is also just drawing to a close with youngsters starting off at TD1/2, progressing through TD3 and finally having a go at TD4 course design, mentored by a team of experienced planners. Our thanks go to Lynne Walker, Donald Grassie and Peter McLuckie.
Don’t forget there is still time to enter the competition to design a Young Leader buff
For the future, we hope to run at least 2 Young Coach Assistant courses a year with one being North based and the other Central belt. Hopefully this will allow everyone who wishes to take part a chance to do so. Young Planners training will continue to be run online and Young Organiser training is under development.
