New Partnership Manager for the SOA

With Megan Griffiths, our previous sportscotland Partnership Manager, taking on other responsibilities within the organisation, we are delighted to introduce Jane Scott, our new partnership manager, to the orienteering community.

Scottish Orienteering is grateful for the support that we receive from sportscotland and the expertise of a partnership manager is invaluable. The partnership manager works closely with particularly the development staff and supports in other areas like governance and HR.

As of now, our new partnership manager is Jane Scott. Jane hails from Galloway but now lives in Stirling. After completing a degree in Tourism with Modern Languages (German & Spanish), Jane spent 2 years as a Commercial Manager with Marks & Spencer before moving into sport.

Her first sport job was as Athletics Development Officer with Edinburgh Leisure, then National Development Manager with Triathlon Scotland and now Partnership Manager with sportscotland.

Jane’s primary sport is athletics and she was on the Scottish squad for hurdles, high jump, triple jump & 4x100m. She still competes in club athletics and in 2016 went to Perth, Australia as part of Team GB for the World Masters Athletics Championships where she won 2 bronze medals in the 100m Hurdles and 4x100m relay and finished 4th in the long jump.

She remembers fondly going orienteering in the Cally Woods of Galloway Forest when she was at primary school and the SOA is looking forward to rekindling her passion for the woods and being in the countryside.

Look out for a Q&A with Jane in the next SCORE edition!

We would like to take the opportunity to thank Megan for all her hard work and support over the years. The SOA values and appreciates her contribution to building the structure of our Scottish Governing Body and wishes her well on her new venture within sportscotland. Please don’t be a stranger, Megan!
