Travel
The race is within easy reach of most of the UK, with cheap flights to Aberdeen (50 miles) and Edinburgh (120 miles). All events are accessible by bus or bike. Buses on Deeside can carry bikes - check out the Stagecoach website for details.
Local Accommodation
Check out local accommodation. Accommodation will be limited due to other local events happening at the same time so book early.
The Fife Arms Hotel in Braemar is offering a cheap deal. The rates on all the websites have now been updated and reduced to £65 per room per night for standard doubles and twins on the dates of the competition. A guide hut is available next to the Games Park that sleeps 28 (24 on mattresses and 2xtwin rooms) is available for booking - contact jon@big-jon.demon.co.uk
Campsite: We will be providing a campsite with fixed toilets and showers at the worl famous Braemar Highland Games Park.
Campsite fees: Small tent (max 3 people) £7.50 per night Large tent (4+ people) 14.00 per night Caravan or campervan 17.50 per night
There will be a 4 cubicle shower unit on site - so hot showers for all! There is limited access to electrical power for campervans and caravans on the hard standing - six sockets, four are 16 amp 3pin blue, two are 32amp 3pin blue.
NB - there is usually a "no-dogs" policy in the games field, however as long as owners clean up after dogs they will allow them for the campers. Please respect this concession and make sure any dog mess is removed.

The 2015 World Orienteering Championships will be based in Inverness, Scotland during August, and will utilise the world class terrain along the Moray coast and in the Cairngorms National Park. The Scottish 6 Days will run in parallel to the Championships and will bring 5000 competitors to the area boosting the local economy by an estimated £2 million.
