Event Safety Training

British Orienteering require all event officials to undergo training in Event Safety and Welfare.  This is delivered as a 3-hour workshop, highly practical in nature, sociable, enjoyable and informative.  A schedule of courses across Scotland is being arranged for early 2016.  First to be confirmed is Carmichael on 21st March.

World Orienteering Day 11th May 2016

First newsletter

The first ever World Orienteering Day will be held on Wednesday, May 11th. All schools, all O-clubs and all countries all over the world are encouraged to participate. The IOF are looking to set a new Guinness World Record of 250,000 young people participating in orienteering events simultaneously all over the world.

Part of Sprint Scotland Training Camp

This is a World Ranking Event (along with SOUL 7 on Sunday 17th). Using a new map and with another race in the afternoon along with a ceilidh in the evening.

If you want to improve your Sprint skills you should consider signing up for the training camp that runs from Thur 14th July.

The Scottish Night Champs are the night before on the North Pentland hills.

The SOA achieved the Foundation Level of the Equality Standard in March 2013. As part of our commitment to the Equality Standard we are resubmitting at Foundation Level, and are currently going through an audit process with completion planned for the end of March 2016. A commitment to deliver against an equality policy is one of the principles of good governance for SGBs in Scotland set-out by sportscotland.

bto SOUL 1 is the main event on Sat 23, sandwiched between a campus based night event on Fri 22 and a SoSOL race with a twist on Sun 24. 
The bto SOUL series 2015 prizegiving was on Saturday afternoon.
