Technology Workshop Tuesday 6 March

The SOA will be running a technology workshop/discussion forum on the evening of Tuesday 6 March, 2012.  This will be held at Ted Finch’s house starting at 1800 hrs;  if you need directions please contact Colin Matheson.  The aim of the session is to better understand the challenges of bringing together different technologies at major orienteering events.

 

We will examine the different roles and responsibilities of staff at the event (IT, production, commentary) as well as a more technical discussion around existing and emerging technologies.  These could include radio controls, GPS, big screen, results boards etc..  Events such as WOC2015 demand such innovations – we have great opportunities to learn more at events such as JK2012, Moray 2013 and others. 

We are looking for ideas and input from as many as possible so if you want to be attend or be involved please contact Colin Matheson as soon as possible.
