Moray 2013 Event Centre Preview
Saturday 3rd November.
Moravian are working with Mike Rodgers (Moray RDO) and the Brodie Castle Property Management Team to launch the new Brodie O map and to provide a preview of the Moray 2013 6 Day Event Centre and Camp Site.
There will be a Saturday League event at the Castle on 3rd November where this historic building will be opened exclusively for orienteers. There will be two courses (2K and 3.5K) planned by Scotjos W14 Kathryn Barr, followed by a social in the Castle Tea Room. Having thoroughly explored the outside, orienteers will then be able to get to know the inside of the Castle, and hear some stories about the Castle's past, during guided tours lead by some of Moravian's teenage members who are being trained up as guides over the October holidays. Visitors to the event will also notice a prevalence of juniors doing the on-the -day admin.
The starts are from 1030-1130 with tours at 1200, 1300 and 1400. The tea room will be open througout. Each tour will be accompanied by a full-time guide who will be performing a 'double act' with the junior tour guides. The tours will be provided at 'concession' rates and are, of course, free to members of the National Trust which you can join on the day.
The number of people that can be accommodated on the tours is limited, so a first-come first-served sign-up system has been set up on Oentries where you can also register for the event. No pre-payment for either the orienteering or the tours is required.
Please come if you can. It will make a great family day out. Full details are on Moravian's web site.
