Levy waiver for Junior-only events

BOF, in the guise of the Junior Competitions Group, have formalised their rules concerning levy exemptions for junior-only events, although curiously the operational rules are not published anywhere I can find them.

Events targeted exclusively for juniors, including “Schools Leagues” as well as obvious Junior-only events are eligible for consideration of exemption from BOF levy, which I would imagine will be granted in all but the most dubious circumstances.

There’s a form to complete *in advance* - BOF do not countenance retrospective requests for levy exemption.  Enduring exemptions for the JST and Scottish Schools are also not available. The Junior event levy exemption form is available to download from the “forms and documents” section of the SOA web site - but not obviously on the BOF one.  The return-to address is included on the form.  It is perfectly OK to add extra events onto the existing form, which currently has space for two events only.

The following link, to the British Orienteering website, provides a small amount of background, including the comment that it’s perfectly acceptable for senior helpers to have a ‘run’ at junior-only events: governance_minutes_junior_26_01_09.pdf

Any questions, please get back to me, although I suspect I may have to forward most of them to BOF.
