Junior European Cup, Scotland - Sep 2010

Thanks to the enthusiasm and support of many volunteer Scots the Junior European Cup 2010 will take place in Scotland this year. The dates and venues outlined are:
Fri 24 September – Sprint – St Andrews
Sat 25 September – Relay – Faskally
Sun 26 September – Individual – Tenstmuir

The Friday and Sunday events are being run with the help of or in conjunction with ESOC events – especially the SOL on the Sunday and Clive Masson for the sprint.

The Friday and Saturday event will be staffed by a band of merry men and women who will also support ESOC with the Tenstmuir event.

Embargo

Can I ask you to advise all athletes – in particularly all M/W 18s and 20s that the above areas are embargoed in the run up to JEC and if they intend to form part of the 24-strong team that Team GBR wish to take then they should refrain from accessing these forests, which includes the taking part in planned ScotJos training (I believe) and the Scottish Night Championships.

I know this will come as disappointment to some and I can only apologise for this late notice and for the clash – there is a real shortage of accessible high quality areas and this clash seems inevitable.
