Development News
Marsela McLeod, SOA Development Director, reminds you how you can win a free entry to next year’s 6 Day Event, and suggests local ROMPs!
New Member Initiative – Competition Reminder
We launched a competition in SCORE earlier in the year encouraging individuals to attract new members to SOA and BOF; names of everyone who signed up a new member would be put in a hat and one drawn at random to win a free entry to next year’s Scottish Six Day. The closing date for entries is Friday December 12th, so (if you haven’t already) please contact Hilary if you want to be included in the competition.
So far this year SOA has increased its membership by 5%. Well done to all those hard working Club Membership Secretaries.
ROMP in your area
At present the National Orienteering Centre operates a training scheme using forests close to Glenmore (Regular Orienteering Map Programme, or ROMP). It’s great for clubs close to Aviemore or members on holiday or up for a weekend, but perhaps clubs further afield could do something similar? It’s a great way to get your club members training on a more regular basis and on different areas. All you need is about 15 controls, access and somewhere to park – and a map pack, which Hilary can help you with if you want.
For both items, contact Hilary via NatCen Contact.
