The Scottish Orienteering League provides a series of high quality events; throughout Scotland throughout the season. High quality venues, maps and quality courses are the key aims. Other key objectives include: elite development and selection, encourage national level competition, act as a flagship and publicity vehicle, to create continuity of quality, and coordinate with other high-quality BOF events. Updated May 2012 to include guideline 22 about string courses.

The Scottish 6 Days, Oban 2011 has won the Thistle Central South West Region award for the Best Sporting Event.
At a ceremony in Glasgow today, Wed 23rd May, Paul Frost & Lynne Walker representing the event, collected a very nice Caithness glass trophy and certificate.

As previously notified in “Score”, the SOA AGM will be held on Saturday 2nd June to coincide with the Scottish Championships in Braemar. Copy of the booklet for the AGM is now available for download. Hard copy has been sent out with SCORE.

Entries for the public events at WTOC remain open at OEntries until next Sunday (May 27). There will be four events – TempO at Camperdown Park in Dundee (TempO is the ‘sprint equivalent of TrailO, with all controls timed) followed by three at Tentsmuir – a model and two TrailO competitions. The final day will give everyone a chance to try the WTOC course. More details on the WTOC website. There will be only limited EOD.

Final preparations are underway for WTOC (6-9 June). More volunteers are still needed to help on the last day of the event (Saturday 9 June) at Tentsmuir, in a variety of roles – TrailO experience not needed.
