10,000 metre challenge team

For British Orienteering Squad Support Fund

10 years ago the 10,000m record was truly smashed at Meadowbank Stadium (Edinburgh) by Murray Strain, Scott Fraser and Graeme Ackland each running 200m in turns.  All of us are older; some faster, some slower and now it is time to see if we can beat our own ‘World Record’ by going faster than the time of 25:50 that we set in 2005.
The ‘old’ team ran 26:48, and a ‘young team’ of James Ackland, Alex and Freddy Carcas ran 27:19, and the money raised is currently £1320.

This took place at Meadowbank Stadium on Monday 18th of May at 19:00.

With an aim of raising money for the ever diminishing British Orienteering Squad Support Fund we encourage you to make a donation whilst guessing what time we will run this time – 2 signed GB orienteering squad tops are up for grabs for the closest guesses!  This fund has helped the team prepare for WOC in Scotland and we would like to make sure it also helps the stars of the future too.

Please support, if you can!

Scott Fraser
