President’s medal 2014

Jess and James Tullie

Jessica and James Tullie (BASOC) are the 2014 recipients of the SOA President’s Medal. Jess received the Medal at the AGM on Saturday 24th May following an excellent day’s orienteering at the Scottish Orienteering Championships at Dalnamein.

Coaching Foundation course

Thanks to generous subsidy from sportscotland, we will be offering a free one-day Coaching Foundation course on various dates during 2015, at venues throughout Scotland. The course will give competent orienteers the skills and understanding to coach beginners of any age.

SportsAid Scotland Awards for 2014

In the second round of awards for 2014, SportsAid Scotland (formerly known as Scottish Sports Aid)  has awarded a grant of £1000 from the Robertson Trust to Andrew Barr (M18, MOR).

SoSOL, Culteuchar, May 18

South of Scotland O League

Tayside Orienteers hosted the final SoSOL of the season on Culteuchar which is a large, mainly open hill area south of Strath Earn.
Results, including Routegadget & WinSplits.

SOA Club Development Conference 2014

The SOA’s Development Conference for 2014 was held at Fordell Firs, near Dunfermline, on 17th May.  Transcripts of discussion group findings are now available (collated versions loaded Monday);  we hope to get Murray Strain’s WOC presentation soon.
