We have now taken a good number of bookings for places on the SOA’s Activity Weekend for Volunteers, to be run at Glenmore Lodge from the evening of Friday 27th September to late afternoon on Sunday 29th. The purpose of this weekend is to reward volunteers for their hard work in support of our sport and to provide an opportunity to develop further in a sociable atmosphere. Clubs that do not yet have any places booked for their members are being contacted, and we urge you to take the places that have been held for you.

The first of this year’s Coach CPD days will be held at Carmichael Estate on Saturday 23rd February, with an exciting and informative outdoor session led by Richard Lecky-Thompson on how to coach terrain-running skills. The day will start at 10:00 and finish in time for everyone to get comfortably to the Scottish Night Championships at Mugdock Park.

As a direct outcome of the SOA Coaching Conference and Coach Update Days (2010 and 2011 respectively), the SOA presented a series of Regional Coaching Activity Days during 2012. These were even more practical in nature than the Update Days, and were held at a variety of locations throughout Scotland. Various outputs from the sessions are now available.
