The Veterans Home International match is being held in Perthshire over the weekend of 17th-18th November.
The Scottish team has been close to winning the match in the last few years and this is probably our best chance for a while. I expect there will be keen competition to be selected for the team, which will again comprise 2 men and 2 women in each age class from M/W35 to M/W60.
Eligibility is limited to BOF members who are either native born Scots, or those who have been resident in Scotland for the last two complete years and whose primary club is a Scottish club.
Selection will be based, as in recent years, on performances at SOL3, SOL4, SOL5 and the Scottish Champs. Other relevant form may be taken into consideration. People who “run up” to a younger age class have caused some problems for selectors in recent years. It is strongly recommended that anyone interested in selection in an age class should compete in that age class at the Scottish Champs and at one other selection race. Native born Scots who live south of the border, and who would like to be considered, should make the effort to come to run in selection races, especially the Scottish Champs.
