SOA Mapping Coordinator wanted
Are you passionate about maps? The SOA is seeking a volunteer to take control of its Mapping Policy.
The mapping portfolio of the SOA and its member clubs is seen as one of the key assets of Scottish Orienteering – without maps there would be no events. So the SOA has established a Mapping Policy designed to ensure the mapping portfolio is managed in a way that reflects its importance. SOA Mapping Policy
A person is sought to help develop and maintain the SOA’s mapping portfolio. The role involves:
* Maintaining an inventory of maps within the SOA and its member clubs
* Maintaining a portfolio of digital maps owned by the SOA
* Developing the SOA copyright portfolio
* Giving guidance to clubs seeking access to mapped areas
* Promoting access to its portfolio of maps for events and training
* Providing guidance on mapping to the SOA member clubs
* Maintaining a preferred printing option to support the SOA member clubs
* Helping in the transition of the Mapping Policy from its current ad hoc status
The Mapping Coordinator will report to the Operations Director.who is responsible for maintaining the policy.
Obviously a keen interest in maps and mapping are desirable along with a level of technological competence as mapping becomes increasingly digital.
