Following SOA discussions with Sport Scotland, then SOA discussions with SCOTJOS and SEDS, news on SEDS for 2008.
Sport Scotland and SOA in agreement have specified that certain funding should be directed towards the best of our athletes. In line with this there are 2 groups within SEDS:

Performance Group
These are M/W 20/21 athletes who have represented GB in international races or are in the British Senior or Junior Squad.

Different support is available to the two groups. For all athletes a programme of domestic training weekends is available. Attendance will be funded from the SEDS budget.
For the Performance group additional funding will support: - an international training camp / race - this year we will be attending the Jukola Relay in Finland. This is inteded as an insprational and team building competitive experience. It will be followed by training in Estonia which is focussed on the World Student Championships to be held there in July (the majority of SEDS athletes are eligible) - an athlete support fund is available to fund personal training plans.
Athletes will apply to the fund for support of specific activities, which must contribute towards a focussed goal.

19th 20th Jan - Training around Perth
25th Feb - 2 March Aviemore training with GB Squad
8th 9th March - Lake District training
Future training
10th 11th May training in conjunction with SSC and SOL 2
June - Jukola and Estonia training
October Senior Home INternational
Autumn Training dates to be confirmed.
