Orienteers win the Rat Race

Grampian orienteer Oleg Chepelin, competing as Team British Orienteering with fellow British International Neil Northrop (South Yorkshire), wins the Newcastle Rat Race.

The event is part of a series of Urban Adventure Races which includes Edinburgh, London, Belfast and Melbourne; a significant part of these races requires excellent navigation & decision-making skills as well as a high level of physical fitness.

Team British Orienteering led from the start and, after 6.5 hours of racing, took victory by 25 minutes.
