Saturday 3 March 2007, Faskally Woods, Pitlochry
This coaching day was very well attended, with enthusiastic orienteers of all ages attending from a wide area. Faskally is a delightful area for orienteering, with varied terrain and features all within a compact area of forest, readily accessible from the main road, so it was an ideal choice for a coaching area.

A mixed group of coaches from nine clubs across Scotland gathered at Stirling University to improve their knowledge and understanding of orienteering coaching through presentations, practical work and the exchange of experiences and ideas. The sessions were led by Lynne Walker and Ross McLennan, with contributions on the Sprint O format from Andy Kitchin and Night O from Dick Carmichael.

A pictorial guide to control descriptions. Generally the written control descriptions refer to terms in common use. The pictorial control descriptions are defined on the IOF website (see above) but to explain precisely what each feature looks like is beyond the scope of this document. These are just examples of what they might look like.
