GLASGOW 2014 Legacy Consultation – Public meetings

A series of public meetings are being held across Scotland to ask people what legacy they want from the 2014 Commonwealth Games.  Confirmed future events are:

Junior Inter-Regional Championships 2008

This year the JIRCs are being hosted by N.E. England, on 28th and 29th June, and will take place near Richmond in North Yorkshire.

Scottish Schools Orienteering Festival

Friday 6 June, Drumpellier Country Park, Coatbridge.
The Festival is aimed at pupils who have been introduced to orienteering through their school and the courses will be set at a level that will allow success for pupils who have grasped the basic skills.
Info is available on the STAG Web Site.
Results and details of the World Schools selection policy are available now.

The road to Spring in Spain for Scotland’s 13 to 17 year olds starts on Friday June 6th at Coatbridge’s Drumpellier Park (very accessible, just off the motorway) when Scottish Schools Orienteering stage the 2008 Scottish Schools Orienteering Festival.

Scottish Sprint Championships

FVO attracted a large field to the 2008 Scottish Sprint Championships which finished in the shadow of Stirling Castle. The course, shared by all classes, used the streets, lanes, paths and open ground of Stirling Old Town.

Future Champions Cup Final, 3-4th May

The Future Champions Cup (FCC) is a competition for the top British M/W 18’s and 20’s.
This year 11 Scottish juniors have qualified for the final being held in Yorkshire.
